During ASL Interpreted performances, qualified Interpreters convey the story, dialogue and other elements to patrons who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. ASL section seats are available in the orchestra, permitting patrons to see both the stage and the Interpreters simultaneously.

For all non-theatrical and non-ballet performances, Patrons requiring interpreting services for concerts or events should contact the Citizens Bank Opera House at info@bostonoperahouse.com with the language of ASL Request in the subject of the email. Requests by ticket patrons are required at minimum 2 weeks prior to the show date.

During Open Captioned Performances, an electronic text display is placed to the side of the stage which shows what the performers are saying and singing while also describing any sound effects on stage for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Patrons.
